Night driving has become genuinely unsafe

Night driving has become genuinely unsafe, is restoration enough or do I need new lights?

I’ve reached the point where I actively avoid driving at night because my headlights are so cloudy that I can barely see the road markings ahead, and on unlit roads it’s honestly nerve wracking. The car is otherwise in great shape so it feels silly to consider such a big step as replacing the units, but I don’t know if polishing will actually restore enough light output or just make them look clearer cosmetically. I came across Quality cloudy headlight restoration near MBZ City while searching for options and it seems like a proper job involves more than just buffing the surface, which is what my failed DIY attempt was. My questions are whether restoration genuinely improves light output enough to matter at night or if it’s mostly about appearance, and how much improvement is realistic compared to brand new lights. Also is there a point where cloudiness has gone too deep and restoration won’t help at all? I’d rather know upfront if I’m wasting my time before booking anything.
